Transducer design simulation using finite element method

چکیده
The fast development of computer power and computational algorithms has made it possible to design complex transducers and arrays using computer simulation. Practical examples are given here for transducer modeling using 3-D finite element method (FEM) instead of the traditional 1-D equivalent circuit models. The merits and deficiencies of the frequency domain and time domain FEM formulations will also be analyzed.

Piezoceramic Element Design and Fabrication for Ultrasonic Transducer of Gas Meter
Ultrasonic transducers play a significant role in generating and receiving the acoustic waves in ultrasonic flowmeters. Depending on the required accuracy, the ultrasonic transducers can be installed either in one pair or more in an ultrasonic flowmeter. The main part of an ultrasonic transducer is its piezoceramic element. In this work, four piezoceramic elements with different diameter to thi...
متن کاملFinite Element Modeling of an Ultrasonic Transducer
Ultrasonic transducers are integrated into the minimally invasive needles and catheters for medical diagnostic. There is a need for a model that can predict the behavior of the ultrasonic transducer. Many designers employ one dimensional analytic models, however due to certain limitations these models are not adequate to understand the entire performance of an ultrasonic transducer. Nowadays, f...
متن کاملA Multi-Physics Simulation Model Based on Finite Element Method for the Multi-Layer Switched Reluctance Motor
Using ANSYS finite element (FE) package, a multi-physics simulation model based on finite element method (FEM) is introduced for the multi-layer switched reluctance motor (SRM) in the present paper. The simulation model is created totally in ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) as a parametric model usable for various conventional types of this motor and it is included electromagnetic, therm...

The aim of this study, is to use finite element simulation to achieve the optimal geometry of a broaching tool that creates the lowest tensile stress at the machined surface of the Ti6Al4V alloy. It plays a major role in reducing production costs and improves the surface integrity of the machined parts. The type and amount of residual stress determined by the thermal and mechanical loads transm...
متن کاملOptimization of Capacitive Acoustic Resonant Sensor Using Numerical Simulation and Design of Experiment
Optimization of the acoustic resonant sensor requires a clear understanding of how the output responses of the sensor are affected by the variation of different factors. During this work, output responses of a capacitive acoustic transducer, such as membrane displacement, quality factor, and capacitance variation, are considered to evaluate the sensor design. The six device parameters taken int...
